Rex Callahan's overtime winner capped a stunning third-period comeback as the Thunder Ducks erased a two-goal deficit to steal two points from the Iron Wolves at Northgate Arena. Dutch Harmon made 31 saves and was the backstory of the night, holding the fort while his team clawed back. The win pushes the Ducks to within two points of second place with five games remaining.

Metro League Confirms Double-Elimination Playoff Format for 2026 Postseason

The league office has announced that all seven teams will qualify for the 2026 playoffs under a revised double-elimination bracket. The top seed receives a first-round bye. Bracket seeding will be revealed on March 28th following the final regular-season night. Playoffs begin the second week of April.

Due to a recurring facility booking conflict with an adjacent event, all Sunday evening games at Northgate Arena will now start at 5:00 PM instead of 6:30 PM, effective immediately. The Cosmic Crushers brought their trademark grinding style to Northgate Arena and suffocated the Rogue Rockets from the opening whistle. Ozzy Crane was magnificent in goal, stopping 29 of 30 shots as the Crushers dominated puck possession in the defensive zone. V. Ramos scored twice and added a physical presence that neutralized Sasha Fontaine all game.

The Shadow Strikers rank last on the power play at 11.2%, a number their coaching staff has publicly committed to addressing before the playoffs.

League Launches Official MBHA Fan of the Month Recognition Program

Starting in March, the Metro Ball Hockey Association will recognize one fan per month who demonstrates exceptional community spirit, attendance, and support of the game. Nominations can be submitted through the league office. The inaugural winner will be announced at the March 28th season finale.
